Job Title: Support Worker (Learning Disabilities)
Location: Bromley, BR1 Area
Hours: 10 hours per week (Flexible days/times)
Pay Rate: £14.75 per hour

Job Summary:
We are seeking a compassionate and experienced Support Worker to assist an 34 year old individual with a learning disability. The ideal candidate should have prior experience in supporting individuals with learning disabilities and possess a deep understanding of the challenges they face. The role involves fostering independence, assisting with daily activities, and providing emotional and practical support.

Key Responsibilities:

·         Provide support with daily organisation and life skills.

·         Assist in managing daily routines and activities.

·         Create and maintain a supportive and nurturing environment.

·         Help develop essential life skills such as cooking, personal hygiene, and household chores.

·         Encourage independence while offering guidance and assistance when needed.

·         Ensure the individual’s needs are met and their voice is heard.

·         Build a trusting relationship and establish strong rapport.

·         Be available via phone on a daily basis and conduct a weekly face-to-face meeting with the client.

·         Work collaboratively with the key support worker to ensure continuity of care.

Requirements:

·         Previous experience working with individuals with learning disabilities.

·         Understanding of the challenges faced by individuals with learning disabilities and ability to tailor support accordingly.

·         Compassionate and patient demeanour.

·         Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

·         Flexibility and adaptability to meet evolving needs.

·         Empathetic approach to the individual’s unique situation and requirements.

·         An understanding of Special Needs is essential.

A driving license is preferable as the client has regular appointments, including weekly session at Bromley Beacon.
