LinkMeUp Buddies is a new scheme for disabled children, young people and their families, focused on fun, friendship and fulfilment.
LinkMeUp Buddies is an uplifting new service created to provide support for families and young people. The initiative is inspired by families who are looking to find fun and appropriate assistance for young people and children with special educational needs (SEN) and disabilities.
Our Buddies matching service offers invaluable support. It helps families employ a committed, similar-aged and like-minded Buddy for the disabled young person or child in their family. Buddies can offer help and opportunity by providing day-to-day support, sharing experiences, empowering young people to access their local community and developing new skills.
LinkMeUp Buddies can be matched to your specific personal criteria such as your age, hobbies and interests, availability, skills, experience, and more. You choose if the person is the right ‘fit’ for you and your family.
How does Buddies work?
At present, the LinkMeUp Buddies scheme is only available for families living in Greenwich that are referred to us by the Disabled Children Social Work Team. However, we do plan to open it up to other families in the near future – if you would like to be kept up to date, please subscribe to our email list here.
